ALUMAX, Design and ELS all give the same answer to the same question, because they read from one set of recommendations. If you want to check why something is recommended — a material at a sink, a clearance in a galley, a window system on an exposed elevation — the reasoning is here, with the evidence it rests on.

Each one states where it applies, what to avoid, how strong the evidence behind it is, and when it was last reviewed. A recommendation appears only once it has been approved — proposals still being worked on are not published.

What this is, and what it is not

Every recommendation cites the standard or the field record it rests on, and says how strong that evidence is. One reaches approved status only on the two strongest evidence levels — a locally-invented rule is mechanically barred from ever getting there. Where the evidence is thin, the page says so rather than rounding up.

It is not a price list and not a sales tool. It carries no cost, no margin and no supplier term. Where a price appears anywhere in the estate it is an indicative published range with a date on it, never a quotation.

It is also not a fourth place to shop. Most people never need to come here at all, and that is the intended outcome — this is the layer underneath the other three, for when the answer matters more than the product.
